Trustful, scalable, two-way non-verbal communication enabled, mobile application.

Tested on children*. Seriously.

DroneRadar is a mobile application that informs you about the possibility of performing a legal flight in a certain place at a certain time. The application also allows for registering a flight by performing a so called “check-in” - equivalent to procedural control known from manned aviation.

DroneRadar is connected to the PansaUTM system, a platform that co-ordinates Unmanned Aerial Vehicle flight in Polish airspace. However, we are working on Droneradar Mobile app interoperability with other CISP and USSP providers.

The DroneRadar application is available for the following operating systems:

iOS

Android

Funcionality

  • Access to and visualization of airspace data from all AIM sources: AIP, AISupplement, NOTA, AUP (FUA support - Flexible Use of Airspace)

  • Visualisation of Geozones ED-269 compliant (buildings, national parks etc.)

  • Implementation of aeronautical data, U-Space data and local regulations by means of the DroneRadar indicator. Three lamps clearly show the possibility of performing a flight:
    Green – no restrictions,
Orange – restrictions present (shown in tab)
Red – flight prohibited (Information on how to obtain clearance in info tab).

  • 4D data management by interpreting 3D data with time constraints.

  • Bidirectional, non-verbal data management between ATS and the operator (CDDLC – Controller Drone Data Link Communication).

  • Access to elevation data for AMSL calculation.

  • Access to Kp-index data (Global Geomagnetic Storm Index).

  • Marking flight point by registering flight (check-in) by users not registered in the PansaUTM system where registration is not required by law (eg. Class G airspace with no airspace structures). User identity is confirmed by SMS.

  • Marking flight location by registering flight (check-in) by users registered in the PansaUTM system

  • Marking flight location and associating it with an earlier defined mission in PansaUTM.

* Tested on children

Even if it sounds strange, it has a deep meaning. Before publishing subsequent versions, especially those that implement complex regulations, we ask children and teenagers aged 12 to 18 for their opinion of the application. Only when they approve the functionality, we publish the new edition.

Supports and handles exceptions as a rule

Although, as a rule, regulations should be consistent in different European countries, we are aware that they can vary greatly. Each country, region, even a single airport may have its own special requirements based on local needs.

The Droneradar application supports exceptions, which turn out to be critical for a successful implementation.

In addition to displaying, we also interpret

Perhaps the most difficult task in all of U-space is taking responsibility for interpreting laws and regulations. We adhere to the principle that we take all factors influencing the decision to fly. This, in turn, requires the analysis of a lot of data and the creation of demanding algorithms.

We also managed to pass the certification procedure, in which we proved that we can correctly interpret the regulations. We consider it the most important element of service implementation. Our goal is that all users of the space behave in accordance with the imposed regulations, and that there is no room for loose decisions.

Everything revolves around the declaration, represented by Checkin. In other words, Checkin is the simplest version of Operational Flight Plan.

Below, you will find typical, most frequently used statuses in the application

CDDLC as a foundation for 2-way non verbal communication

Controller Drone Data LInk Communication - by analogy to CPDLC

Communication with ATS (Air Traffic Services) by the bidirectional, non-verbal communication is our core feature, extremely relevant to air traffic safety.

The immediate execution of instructions given by ATC or FIS services is mandatory and is in the best interest of the UAS operator.

ATS may grant you take-off permission, give you an order to land now or simply modify your plans.

Air Traffic Services (ATS) may at any time issue unconditional landing order.

Remember! Yours and others safety depends on your immediate reaction.

In the Droneradar application, we have support to inform ATS whether the message has been delivered, read and executed.
